Benches are always built from the ceiling down. The top bench should be 110cm-130cm below ceiling for optimal head clearance. Additional benches are added at ~40cm intervals. Heater: corner for Straight/L-Shape, center for Parallel/U-Shape.

Understanding Sauna Dimensions

Ceiling Height

Minimum: 180cm (6')

Recommended: 250cm+ (8'+)

Higher ceilings allow better heat stratification and more comfortable seating on the top bench.

Volume Per Person

Minimum: 3.0 m³ (100 cf)

Recommended: 4.0 m³+ (150 cf)

More volume means better air quality and more comfortable bathing sessions.

Head Clearance

From bench to ceiling:

110cm-130cm (42-50")

Ensures comfortable sitting on the top bench without feeling cramped.
